Changes and Opportunities as an Artist

Hello Art Lovers. I know it’s been a while. There have been many changes in how I approach my art business and lots of new opportunities as an artist have emerged this year . 2023 is definitely my year of CHANGE personally and professionally, and it is all very exciting and positive.

The start of the year began with our exhibition at beautiful Robe in South Australia with a majority of my artworks sold which is extremely encouraging in this current art market predicted to be lean and mean. I have a few paintings available at Karatta Wine and Gallery that you can see if you happen to visit beautiful Robe.

Like a lot of creatives I have had to change my approach and think of other opportunities as an artist . This has helped me, with encouragement from others to offer art classes for adults in my studio. Given the space they are small and intimate allowing me to be able to help each student individually. I am running my next abstract art immersion on Thursday the 13th of July from 10:30 am until 3pm and have only a few spots left so let me know if you’re interested. I have found sharing my art practice with others extremely rewarding and I’m loving it.

As an artist working from my home studio it can be quite a lonely existence, so it’s nice to be able to share my knowledge with others. It’s also been really lovely to be able to attend more art events and catch up with other artists and support one another.

I have a few other projects in the pipeline and will be attending The Affordable Art Fair end of August as an artist so I am working towards that … however I will share more about that later on. I have also been creating a new body of more abstract artwork for Artist Lane who sell my artwork as open edition prints. Prints have definitely been popular this year and I have several limited edition prints available on my website.

During the Winter months I am also using my time to learn new art techniques which I am really excited about. You can never stop learning and evolving as an artist.

I hope you have enjoyed my rambling post about change and how sometimes you are able to make the most of new opportunities that you just couldn’t see before until you are forced to think differently. So many possibilities.

Robe Exhibition and Easter Delivery

Hello! It’s been a while. I confess admin is not my strong point and I’d much rather be creating more artwork but it’s important for a small business so here I am to update you on all my art news. I’ve been busy … I started of in January taking myself off on a self catered ARTIST RETREAT at beautiful Robe on the Limestone Coast in South Australia which is famous for its historical Fishing Village, long sandy white beaches, crayfish, wineries, breweries and of course the Obelisk. At Robe I created a body of artwork that depicts the essence of Robe from the coastal botanicals, turquoise waters to treasures washed up by the Ocean. I have been visiting Robe with my family all of my life and it holds a very special place in my heart. When Terry Johnson fellow artist and Art Curator of Karatta Wines Gallery approached me about exhibiting there It was a big YES. We decided to form a group exhibition and have called it IN LOVE WITH ROBE The exhibition is currently running and will run until the 30th of April. I’m a bit biased but I love how all our art looks together with Terry’s vibrant fish and paintings that depict icons of Robe , Sophia Legoe’s beautiful organic vases that depict the Rockpools and natural coastal landscape and my abstract botanical landscapes and rock-pools. It’s a wonderful combination. So if you’re in Robe over Easter and the school holidays make sure you visit. Karatta Wines Gallery is in Victoria Street which is the Main Street in Robe. In other news I have been exploring different variations of my artwork from different abstract designs and delving in a bit deeper into painting sea shells. Of course I’m still enjoying painting my abstract botanicals as well, but It is important for me to follow my creative instincts and explore different subject matter. As they say “Variety Is The Spice Of Life”. What other news do I have…. I am working on a few paintings to submit to Art Red Hill, which will be held from the 5-7th May at the Red Hill Consolidated School. I will also be exhibiting at The Affordable Art Fair this year with Kiss With Style in Melbourne which will be held from the 31st of August until 3rd September

Silly Season and The Block

Happy weekend everyone. I have so much news to tell you I’m not sure where to start. On the personal front things have been busy with my twins finishing their schooling education and sitting their VCE exams. I have been holding space for them so haven’t been creating as much as usual. I managed to squeeze a little trip in to see my family in the Grampians and my eldest has come home from travelling overseas.

On the creative front I have the exciting news of two of my artworks being featured in Dylan and Jenny’s house on the Chanel 9 Series THE BLOCK I was invited to go and view the artwork and meet the contestants in their house in Gisborne,45 mins from Melb in the Macedon Ranges). I must say being my introverted self I was extremely nervous but they were so lovely and my artwork looks amazing in their home.

The two artworks are available as art prints exclusively through the Block shop. Such an amazing opportunity for me.

New Art Print and Arty News

Hello lovely art community. As promised you are the first to know…… I have just uploaded a new art print Days Of Summer. The original artwork is now sold and I have released a small run of 25 art prints available in three sizes now on my website. I will be releasing some more prints in the next few days as well in a similar color palette.

In other art news I am going to be on TV…. well my artwork will be. Check out my socials for more info!! I have been keeping this news quiet for a while but I will be able to spill all the beans very soon.

I had a little count down and till Christmas and eeeekkkkkk it’s only 12 weeks until the Big Day …. Keeping this in mind I have only one more commission spot available for this year. If you have been thinking about having your own custom artwork painted for you make sure you send me an email to get things started.

I will be participating in the Somers Art’s Fair this year on the 23rd October. We are excited that it is a real life art show this year. I hope to see some of you there perhaps. It’s such a fun day held at our local Primary School with lots of entertainment for all ages.

My first Blog!

Hello to all of you and welcome to my art website. As I am writing this the wind is blowing a gale outside and we are nearing the end of our coldest Winter. There is a glimmer of hope for Spring with some of the fruit trees starting to blossom and the Wattle is out in full force which is a sign of the change of seasons.

My artwork is very influenced by the surroundings and I have been taking photos and sketches which will appear in later work. I have just uploaded some smaller abstract botanicals that I have recently painted.

I am working towards an exhibition which will be held in February 2023 in the fishing village at Robe South Australia. I am hoping to spend most of the Summer preparing for this over in Robe, which is where we spend most of our holidays and have since my childhood.

I also have been working on a collaboration that I have recently finished for a rebranding, but I cannot say anymore until its due to be released. My art Where The Wildflowers Grow is now available as a reformer mat and also a yoga mat with YOGAT , which is an Australian company. The mats are made from all environmentally friendly products and can go in the washing machine. How good is that! There are actually a few more exciting things on the horizon but I have to keep them as a secret for now.

I have been working on my wholesale side of my art business and am hoping to release two new art prints which will be available in paper and canvas as a limited edition of strictly 25. This means that once they are sold out that is it for that particular print.
